A division of the huge National organisation Girlguides came to us to redesign their website. The Kent Weald section hadn’t updated their site for a while and it needed an update to reflect the national brand as well as showcase all they have to offer as an area.
Taking first inspiration from the National site, it was clear that the direction of the site would be bright, informative and fun. It needed to include all information related to the clubs specifically as well as a general overview of Girlguiding. The site would be regularly updated with the latest news and events, so a robust and straightforward system needed to be used.
Utilising the key colours from the Girlguiding brand throughout, we unified the National Girlguiding site to the division one. This gave a strong overall theme throughout the site. A unique, fun header font was used throughout, while the body font was the same as the Girlguiding site. There were plenty of good images of the girls, so we wanted to make the whole website very visual and engaging.
The structure of the site was simple with clear navigation. Key CTAs to sign up were implemented on each page to encourage new users to sign up. The site was to be used for both existing members and potential new members. ‘What we do’ and ‘where’ would give a fun, informative and insightful look at the Clubs ands who is eligible. We then created a members area and latest news and events for the existing members to log in and find out what was going on. The two facets work harmoniously and allowed the Kent Weald division to not divert their traffic to the national site for additional information.
The overall result of the site was a user-friendly, youthful, fully responsive platform, that is easy to use for parents and girls.Launch this Project
